Delta Gamma

Philanthropy Events

Our three founders: Anna Boyd Ellington, Mary Comfort Leonard, and Eva Webb Dodd adopted the motto “Do Good” in 1873. Since then, every Delta Gamma strives to live that motto through our philanthropy work, our dedication to our sisterhood, and our work within our university and community.

Delta Gammas at the University of Oregon fulfill our Service for Sight mission by working with organizations serving the visually impaired in the Eugene and surrounding communities.  As a chapter, we partner with the Northwest Blind Athletes Association, American Council for the Blind, Lions Club, and Veterans Administration participating in their "Valentines for Vets" program.

In the Spring, we host our Signature Foundation Event:  AnchorSplash

AnchorSplash is a friendly pool competition including relay races and synchronized swimming.  It is special because it allows the Greek Community to come together to raise money for Service for Sight while having fun at the same time.

Over the years our chapter has raised more than $300,0000 to benefit blind and visually impaired individuals through our philanthropy events and our other smaller fundraisers.

Our chapter strongly believes in the importance of greek life participation. Alpha Deltas have a great time supporting and attending the other fraternity and sorority philanthropic community events.
